Rohingya – U Kyaw Min – Ex-crpp

Fairness what matters most.
Government should treat all races with equal regards.Favouring one race at the cost of another race is root cause of conflict. In Rakhine state government implements what Rakhine people propose. So there are several dozens new model villages on Muslim’s farm lands. In every two or three miles distance there stationed a security post though there were no Muslim insurgents in Maungdaw area. A NA SAKA special regiment for more than twenty years was stationed there who did not find out any illegal Bengali. NRCs were siezed to replace with TRCs.Again TRCs were made invalid in 2014 and issuance of NVCs to fomer TRC holders is inprocess which most people reject. These are in compliance with Rakhine people’s demand. Now refugee’s abandoned Lands are arranged to settle new non Muslim settlements.Lands appropriation and distribution committee headed by Dr Aye Chan, aJapanese citizenwas formed and working to establish new Rakhine villahes.Minister explained some returnees should be settled not in their original homestead but some where near around. Very recently Monk Association in Sittwe demanded to the ministers to make Maungdaw south a Muslim free zone.Under these situation how the returnees will survive.?How will their subsistence be?These all are real deterrents to the returning of refugees. Most of all, the condition to accept NVC is seen by the refugees as a persecutive and discriminatory pressure.Thetefore I request to the authority concerned to choose a fair and win win approach for the solution of current Rakhine state Rohingya crisis. The form and content of that solution can be found in post independence period governments.
